Dear Friends,
Under certain circumstances it seems to be the case that the
midline of a fraction is shifted left somewhat even as recently
as Mozilla 1.7.
I've prepared a document containing a number of examples:
http://www.albany.edu/~hammond/gellmu/mathmltest/mfr.xhtml
What I perceive as latency is colored in red. In every case it seems
that I can workaround it simply by enclosing the mfrac in an mrow,
i.e., making sure that mrow is its parent.
